  • JEREMIAH ELLISON

Current Ward 5 City Council Member

"When I first ran for office, I knew I wanted to center the Northside as a place of creativity, a place where people are good neighbors regardless of their means, and a place where people a given the tools to build the type of community we all deserve. For so long, I’d been told by the news and people outside of our neighborhood that the Northside was not that place, and I decided to join arm and arm with you all to prove something different. Today, there are more Northside businesses than when I started, but there is still more that needs to be done. Today, there is more housing, affordable and dignified housing, but there is still more that needs to be done. Today, crime is done, but we want to see crime gone, so there is still more that needs to be done.

I believe E’s leadership will make the Northside stronger. And that is why it is my honor to endorse E, and ask you all to join me in making her our next Ward 5 City Council Member.

  • KIM ELLISON

Minneapolis Public Schools Board Vice Chair

As an experienced staff member at City Hall, Ethrophic has shown up and advocated for North Minneapolis again and again. • SUSAN CURNOW BREEDLOVE

Resident of 56 years, activist, and Northside historian

Having known and having been a neighbor of Ethropic Burnett for over a decade, I can attest to her character. We live across the street from each other in the Hawthorne neighborhood of the 5th Ward. While growing up in Chicago, Ethropic witnessed the activism of her grandmother and mother and has carried on their history of being committed to one’s neighborhood. In addition to being a good listener, she assists others by connecting their expressed needs to resources in the metro area. Her experiences from different avenues of employment in and about City Hall allow her to address issues with a portfolio of knowledge.
